April Paul, DVM, Diplomate ACVECC
A specialist in veterinary emergency and critical care, Dr. April Paul joined the Tufts VETS team in 2002. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Paul earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
Dr. Paul served a rotating internship at Southwest Veterinary Specialty Center in Tucson, AZ from 2000-2001, along with an emergency and critical care residency at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and Tufts VETS in Walpole from 2002-2005. A diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, Dr. Paul has professional interests in trauma, emergency surgery, immune-mediated diseases, and geriatrics. Dr. Paul volunteers often for spay/neuter clinics both locally and internationally, and is involved in disaster relief.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Paul enjoys spending her leisure time with her pets, which include a Redbone Coonhound named Savanna and two domestic shorthair cats named Bo and Simon. She also enjoys hiking, biking, rock climbing, kayaking, yoga, fishing, gardening, and weight lifting.
