- Dr. Barret Bulmer
Barret Bulmer, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM-Cardiology
Dr. Barret Bulmer received his DVM from Louisiana State University and completed a small animal rotating internship at Colorado State University. Dr. Bulmer completed his cardiology residency and MS degree at the University of Illinois and became a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Cardiology in 2002. After completing his residency Dr. Bulmer joined the faculty at Kansas State University in 2002 as an Assistant Professor and helped develop their first cardiology program. In 2006 Dr. Bulmer joined Oregon State University and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2009. Dr. Bulmer has authored numerous articles published in JAVMA, AJVR, JVIM and the Journal of Veterinary Cardiology. He has authored several book chapters published in The Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Current Veterinary Therapy XIV and The Veterinary Clinical Advisor. He has given over 80 hours of continuing education at the local, regional, national and international level and has received numerous teaching accolades including the Carl Norden-Pfizer Distinguished Teacher Award at Oregon State University, the Clinical Teaching award at Kansas State University, the Resident Teaching Award at the University of Illinois and the Outstanding Small Animal Intern Award at Colorado State University.
