Karen Sanderson
DVM, Diplomate ACVIM-Cardiology
Dr. Sanderson obtained her undergraduate degree from UC Santa Barbara, then graduated from CSU in 1999 as a doctor of veterinary medicine. She completed her internship at Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada and her residency at UC Davis. After finishing her residency in 2003, she worked for two years before starting her own practice. Dr. Sanderson has worked for the past twenty years as a veterinary cardiologist and cardiology practice owner prior to joining Tufts VETS in 2025. Although she has primarily focused on small animals, she has also worked with horses and a variety of zoo animals.
Dr. Sanderson enjoys outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, cross country skiing and walking. She loves to travel, read and write, and is especially enjoying the cultural offerings in Boston.
